Diamond Quilted Crochet Blanket Pattern

I couldn't be happier with how this new design turned out! The 'Emerson Diamond Quilted Crochet Blanket' is oh so plush and modern. It's a yarn eater and the larger sizes are time consuming but I think truly worth it for this contemporary textured look.

The inspiration behind this pattern was two fold . . .

Firstly, my amazing Mother-in-Law has been quilting up a storm this Summer. She's already finished quilts for each of her 8 grandchildren and is now working on lap quits for all her grown up kiddos - like me! So, I've had quilts on the brain as I've gotten to see her beautiful creations come to life over the past several weeks.

Secondly, I recently purchased new hand towels for our bathroom and immediately thought "I NEED to crochet that". They are Vera Wang towels from Winners/HomeSense (TJ Max if you're in the U.S.). Below is a picture of one of these beauties and I think you can see my blanket design bares a close resemblance. ;)

It took me SEVERAL tries to get the quilted look just right (see below) and once I was there it took an equally long time to come up with an edging I liked.

I think the end result screams luxury. I am obsessed with how thick this blanket is and have included instructions at the end of the pattern for a bath mat, scarf, etc in this quilted diamond crochet design
